For Disney darling Selena Gomez, dating Justin Bieber is even more dangerous than attending one of his concerts without tear gas and riot gear!
The star of The Mouse’s Wizards of Waverly Place, 18, is reportedly “terrified” of death threats made against her by fans of her boyfriend, 17-year-old crooner Justin Bieber. Selena first drew the ire of Beliebers — as Justin’s often-overzealous fans are affectionately called — last November, when The Rumor Mill spied her having breakfast with The Biebs in Philadelphia. The couple, who we like to call “Justlena,” were photographed kissing, canoodling, and pinching one another’s butts on a yacht during a Caribbean. Twitter erupted with angry Bieber fan rage shortly after the pics were released, with one fan calling Selena a “bitch” who is (sic) “always whit famous boys.”
But things have reached a feverish pitch ever since the couple went public with their relationship at the posh Vanity Fair Oscars Afterparty last month.
“Selena’s terrified,” a squeal blabs on the pages of the March 21 issue of Star Magazine. “She’s only young and when she sees things written about her, she understandably freaks out. Justin tries to reassure her, but what can he do?”
Sounds like its high time Selena invested in some new bodyguards!
In an interview with KIIS-FM’s Ryan Seacrest last week, Selena confirmed that her latest single, “Who Says?,” was penned in retaliation to “haters.”
“Within that world, there’s just such easy access to people’s feelings. This song is such a great message to my fans, and it really touched me when I heard it. Basically, it’s to the haters, it’s to the people who try to bring you down,” she explained.
Meanwhile, Justin has demanded that we media types quit quizzing him on the nature of his relationship with Selena. Speaking to Heat Magazine in January, The Biebs confessed that he is just sooo ovah pesky questions about his personal life. The “U Smile” singer said: “I think that question is just asked way too much. I’m not going to be able to have a personal life if I keep being asked that question. So I’m not answering that question ever again.”
