Move over, Lynda Carter: Make room for TV’s new Wonder Woman.
Adrianne Palicki has been cast in the lead role in NBC’s upcoming adaptation of Wonder Woman, The Hollywood Reporter said Wednesday. The brunette will play Diana Prince, a Los Angeles businesswoman who masquerades as a crimefighting she-ro. The David E. Kelley-helmed pilot is due to start later this year and features a brand new take on the DC comics character from Paradise Island. According to a leaked script, Wonder Woman will now have between two and three secret identities in addition to her superhero persona, with a separate love interest for each identity.
Busy girl.
Palicki, whose screen credits include a turn on Friday Night Lights, met critical acclaim as Cat Thatcher on the shortlived Fox series Lone Star last fall and will play Toni Mason in a set remake of Red Dawn.
Perhaps the most famous actress to take up the mantle of Wonder Woman is Carter, who portrayed the superheroine on the small screen for four years back in the 1970s. What do we think of this newest Wonder casting news?
