Kim Cattrall joins the cast of The Treehouse
Sex and the City star Kim Cattrall is all set to appear in a new pre-war drama The Treehouse.
The film originally titled The Master of Farnow is set against the backdrop of the First World War and will see the 54-year-old actress opposite Jeremy Irons and Tom Strurridge, Contactmusic reported.
Evening filmmaker Lajos Koltai will helm the project which is based on a novel by Eduard von Keyserling and traces the story of a failed student and his family.
Cattrall, who played the man-eating New Yorker Samantha Jones in the hit series, is enjoying doing diverse roles through theatre.
“I’m interested in playing other people. I like working with great writing. The separation is very clear between me and that fantastic character of Samantha. What’s been really beneficial and exciting for me has been to go back to theatre,” she said.
“I’ve done five plays since the series ended, from Whose Life Is It Anyway? to a David Mamet play. I’ve done Amanda in Private Lives and I’ve just done Cleopatra at the Liverpool Playhouse,” she added.
