Mel Gibson Cops Plea In Oksana Grigorieva Assault Case

Drats! OctoMel won’t get a chance to rub swastikas with the rest of the Skinheads in the prison yard at San Quentin after all.

Mel Gibson will appear in court this Friday, where he’ll plead no contest to simple battery stemming from charges that he broke the teeth of then-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva in a fight at her Los Angeles home on Jan. 6, 2010, those with knowledge of the case blabbed to The Associated Press Wednesday.

As part of the deal, Gibson will receive no jail time and must agree to enter counseling.

Blair Berk, the Braveheart actor-director’s attorney, says said Gibson sought the plea agreement after prioritizing the interests of his children. Los Angeles prosecutors have not yet decided whether to charge Grigorieva with extortion, amid Gibson’s claims that she used damning racist and sexist audiotapes of him threatening and berating her to bleed him of cash.

The former couple are the parents of a one-year-old daughter, Lucia.
