Sophie Monk has announced she has split from fiance Jimmy Esebag just weeks after getting engaged. The model was a guest on Chelsea Handler’s US TV show, being filmed for the week in her native Australia, when she revealed the news. “Aren’t you engaged right now?” Handler asked. “No, I’m – I’m just nothing,” Monk told her clearly shocked interviewer, telling her she was newly single. “I’ve just been through a lot,” she said, giving no further details. After Handler told her she was sure she would not have to wait long for men to start flinging themselves at her, Monk quipped: “I think I’m ready to join Team Samantha Ronson right now,” referring to the openly gay DJ. Monk, 31, had announced in January that she was engaged to Esebag, 50, who is the CEO of United Licensing Group, which works with both Playboy and the modeling agency Elite.
