Taylor Swift Adds More Shows to Speak Now World Tour 2011

Taylor Swift has added 16 more dates to the North American leg of her currently underway Speak Now World Tour 2011.

Swift, currently on the European leg of the tour, announced the extensions on March 24.

The 21-year-old country and pop singer now has 78 shows in stadiums and arenas in 63 cities in 42 states and provinces in the US and Canada this year.

Tickets for shows, including stadium shows in Detroit, Foxboro (MA), and Philadelphia, and 4-night runs at the Prudential Center in Newark and at Los Angeles' Staples Center, were gone within minutes of sales opening.

The Taylor Swift Speak Now World Tour 2011, launched February 9 in Singapore, kicks off in the US on May 27 with two sold-out shows at the Qwest Center in Omaha and now wraps with two shows at Madison Square Garden just before Thanksgiving.

Taylor spent most of February playing to capacity crowds in Asia and in March she has headlined arenas throughout Europe.

The Europe tour began on March 6 in Belgium. She most recently performed in Birmingham on March 22. Her next gig is in Northern Ireland on March 25. She will return home after a final performance at London's O2 Arena on March 30.

During the show, Taylor performs on two different stages -- playing several different acoustic and electric guitars and also the piano and the ukulele.

The North American leg of the tour is sponsored by COVERGIRL, the cosmetic brand that Swift has been endorsing since 2010. It is produced and promoted by The Messina Group (TMG.), a partner of AEG Live. Tickets are priced starting at $25.

A complete listing of all of the dates is available at www.taylorswift.com.
