Taylor Momsen Suspended From Cast Of “Gossip Girl” Indefinitely
Taylor’s going ghost.
According to Deadline – you’ll be seeing a lot less of Taylor Momsen, 17, when Gossip Girl resumes shooting after holiday break in January.
The actress with the goth looks is going on an “indefinite hiatus” from The CW soap after the Nov. 29 episode. Though she’s billed as a series regular, Momsen — who portrays Jenny Humphrey on the show — has only appeared in three episodes this season. Reps for the show and the network are staying tight-lipped, but industry insiders say she’ll be absent from at least four episodes beginning with the mid-season finale, airing Dec. 6.
A show insider maintains that the reduced screen time was due to “strictly creative reasons,” but Us Weekly spins a different tale.
“She only does [the show] for the money,” a source explains. “She works hard on Gossip Girl but doesn’t care about the plot or the other cast members. She treats it like a 9-5. No emotional investment.”
The actress and lead singer of punk rock band The Pretty Reckless has been the lead starlet in some high-profile scandals of late. In October, she shot a provocative cover for Revolver Magazine, in which she toted handguns and sported sky-high heels and garters. Momsen was also called out by Project Runway’s Tim Gunn when he guest starred on Gossip Girl. And just a few weeks ago the angst-ridden and heavily-eyelined blonde blamed her parents for her habitually gloomy mood because they turned her into a child star.
