Arguably the most famous woman on the list (at least in the Western world), Shilpa Shetty is beautiful, sophisticated and reeks of class. When she was racially slandered by fellow housemates in the British Celebrity Big Brother, her popularity was such that India actually demanded a public apology! She is a revered actress in Bollywood culture and receives constant praise for her roles. In 2004, Shetty starred in Phir Milenge, a Hindi cinema take on the movie Philadelphia, earning a Filmfare Best Actress nomination and helping to raise awareness of the issue of HIV.
