Emma Watson's Wealth Shocked Her


Emma Watson was shocked when her father told her how rich she was during a "money conversation" when she was 17-year-old.

The Harry Potter star had till then lived on a $75 weekly allowance.

Emma started earning big money at the age of 9, when she was cast for Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in 1999. The film released in 2001 becoming the highest grossing film of the year. Emma's performance in it earned accolades.

"By the third or fourth film, the money was starting to get serious," she told the December issue of UK's Vogue. "I had no idea. I felt sick, very emotional."

Emma is currently worth $32 million. She acknowledges that she will never have to work for money again but refuses to quit studies and become a full time actress.

She is currently a sophomore at Brown University in Rhode where she is majoring in literature.

Emma's Harry Potter co-star, Daniel Radcliffe, is reportedly worth $45 million;

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows", Part 1, the penultimate film in the franchise releases on November 19.
