Kara DioGuardi Memoir

Songwriter Kara DioGuardi is penning a memoir. Will she tell all about her two season run on American Idol?

You betcha!

DioGuardi is writing a book about her tenure as a judge on America’s most-watched TV talent show, said It Books, a division of HarperCollins, said Tuesday. The music industry vet — who once bared her bikini-clad body on the hit show – left (or was fired, depending on who’s telling the story) at the end of Idol’s tenth season.

Now the daughter of former New York State Senator Joe DioGuardi is spilling the tea on what is was really like working with the likes od Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul.

After leaving the singing show, DioGuardi was hired as a judge on Bravo’s upcoming singing competition, Going Platinum, set to premiere next year.

Kara says her memoir — A Helluva High Note: Surviving Life, Love, and American Idol — “is meant to inspire others to take chances to succeed.”

The book is expected to be published in April 2011.
