Taylor Swift Entertainment Weekly Entertainer Of The Year 2010

What does Taylor Swift have in common with stars like James Franco, Katy Perry, the Glee cast, and Jon Hamm? Well, for starters, they’ve all earned hat tips in Entertainment Weekly’s annual Entertainer of the Year issue.

Even a 2009 that ended with a feud with rapper Kanye West couldn’t stop Taylor from enjoying some of the best successes of her short career just a year later. Perhaps the biggest achievement came with the Oct. 25 release of her third album, Speak Now. The disc moved an amazing 1,047,000 units after just six days on sale, the highest tally for any release in five years. Her success prompted EW to name the modern-day Phoebe Snow the youngest Entertainer of the Year in the publication’s 20 year history.

Of course, if EW publishers thought prasing Tay-Tay would be enough to chide the “Love Story” singer into dishing her about new sweetie Jake Gyllenhaal, boy were they mistaken.

Maybe next year they should try cheesecake.

EW: Okay, moving on: Have you seen any good movies lately?
Swift: Um, yes! [Laughs] What have I seen lately? None that are out yet.

EW: How about Love & Other Drugs, starring Jake Gyllenhaal?
Swift: [Smiles] It’s a good movie.

EW: So what’s it like to go away for a weekend with someone and have it end up on the cover of a magazine?
Swift: I write in great detail about my personal life, but I don’t talk about it.

EW: Is anyone in your life allowed to say, “You can’t write a song about me”?
Swift: Nothing is off-limits as far as writing. You can’t have parts of your life you don’t write about.
