Ryan Reynolds filed for divorce from Scarlett Johansson on Thursday, December 23 in Los Angeles Superior Court.
Johansson simultaneously filed her response divorce petition, a possible indication that the couple has reached an amicable settlement.
Neither is seeking spousal support and both petitions mention December 14 as the date of separation.
A source has confirmed to People that the couple is parting on good terms after having grown apart pursuing their flourishing careers. According to TMZ, there was no prenuptial agreement. Ryan earned more than Scarlett during their two years marriage, but unless there is a separate financial settlement their joint earning will be evenly split. Johansson, 26, and Reynolds, 34, married in a quiet ceremony in a wilderness retreat near Reynold's hometown Vancouver in September 2008, after dating for more than a year.
