Gul Panag Ties the Knot

Gul Panag wed Rishi Attari, aka Gurshinder Singh, an airline pilot and former classmate, on Sunday, March 13, in Panchkula.

The wedding took place according to Sikh rites in a Gurudwara in the presence of close friends and family members.

A reception followed at a hotel in Sector 5 in Panchkula.

Panag, an avid motorcyclist, rode to the reception seated in the sidecar of a Royal Enfield motorcycle ridden by Rishi.

''I want to ride a bike, but let me act like a shy bride,'' Gul joked about riding the sidecar.

The newly weds were escorted to the hotel by friends and family members on 20 Enfield motorcycles; some of the riders were ladies.

Panag, 32, was in Nodia, NCR recently, where her parents stay, for a bachelorette party.

The traditional pre-wedding mehndi and sangeet ceremonies took place in Panchkula.

Gul's wedding outfits were reportedly designed by Anita Dongre and JJ Vallaya. Gul wore a pink lehenga with heavy necklace and earrings; turbaned Rishi was attired in a sherwani.

Celebrities at the wedding included TV actor Shruti Seth, Koel Puri, 'Turning 30' director Alankrita Shrivastava, designers Mandira Wirk and Urvashi Kaur.

The couple will hold a reception in Mumbai after they return from their honeymoon.

Panag, a prolific twitterer, has often alluded to a boyfriend in her postings on the social networking site, but was careful never to reveal his identity. Now, of course, we know.

Panag's last film, Turning 30, dealt with the travails of a single women above 30 in the workplace. The film bombed at the box office.
