A delivery from The Stork has made Mother’s Day that much sweeter for former Spice Girl Emma Bunton. The singer-formerly-known as Baby Spice is “over the moon” following the birth of her second son with fiance Jade Jones.
The “2 Becomes 1″ star made the announcement in an update to her Twitter page on Friday: “Our beautiful son Tate has arrived safe and sound! We are all so happy and excited. Thanks and love to you all. Xx,” Emma wrote. The Dancing on Ice judge already has a little boy, Beau, with Jones, former frontman of the UK boy band Damages. The couple have been together for over 11 years and announced their engagement in January.
A statement released on behalf of Bunton and Jones read: “He was born on May 6 2011 and weighed in at 7lbs. Both mother and baby are doing well and the family are over the moon and would like to thank everyone for their kind wishes and support.”
Two of Emma’s former bandmates are also currently expecting. Victoria Beckham and Melanie Brown, who performed with Emma before Spice World went belly-up in the late ’90s, are both due to give birth in July.
