Charlie Sheen Bitter, Ashton Kutcher Humble

Charlie Sheen

Charlie Sheen isn't happy about loosing his job in the comedy series Two and a Half Men to Ashton Kutcher.

In a statement to TMZ on Friday, Charlie praised Kutcher as an artiste, but indicated the show was doomed.

"Ashton Kutcher is a sweetheart and a brilliant comedic performer. Oh wait, so am I!!" Charlie said.

"Enjoy the show America, Enjoy seeing 2.0 in the demo every Monday, WB," Charlie went on, venting his skepticism about the success of the show without him.

He then took a dig at show executive producer Chuck Lorre, believed to be behind Charlie's sacking from the show, saying, "Enjoy planet Chuck, Ashton. There is no air, laughter, loyalty, or love there."

Earlier in the day, a press release from CBS and Warner Bors. announced that Kutcher would join the cast of the hit comedy TV series.

In the press release, Kutcher is quoted as saying, "I can't replace Charlie Sheen but I'm going to work my ass off to entertain the hell out of people."

According to People magazine, Kutcher, 33, got the job after Hugh Grant pulled out of negotiations with the producers.

TMZ places Kutcher's paycheck as being between $800,000 and $900,000 per episode. A source tells People that Kutcher will make $650,000 to $750,000 an episode.

Charlie was being paid $1.25 million per episode.
