Haley’s out and “The Teeny Boppers” are in….Teenagers Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina will face off for the the crown during next week’s American Idol finale.
The young crooners are the two youngest finalists in the show’s 10-season history. But, while Lauren, 16, and Scotty, 17, prepare to sing their hearts out during next week’s finale, fan favorite Haley Reinhart is heading home. Perhaps it was her “Heard Round the Web” fall on stage during her cover of Led Zeppelin’s “What Is and What Should Never Be,” or maybe her forgotten lyrics during Alanis Morissette’s “You Oughta Know.” Whatever the reason, the Chicago-bred powerhouse was the casualty sent packing during Thursday night’s elimination round.
Haley’s final song of the night was a cover of Elton John’s ’70s classic “Benny & The Jets.”
