Sonakshi Sinha and international gospel singer Don Moen spread cheer amongst terminally ill cancer patients at Mumbai's Shanti Avedana Ashram on November 11.
It was an enchanting and emotional morning of worship and devotion as Don sang heart-warming songs and prayed for the patients along with Sonakshi.
By the time the songs and worship ended, everyone including the patients, Don and Sonakshi had tears in the eyes.
"Don's songs are phenomenally popular across the world for their devotion, simplicity, the power to heal and bring about peace. And his visit to this Ashram with Sonakshi on his first tour to India, is a spiritual and musical gift from them to those who are suffering from such a debilitating disease," said Vitrus D'souza, founder of The Friendship Club which is organizing Don's tour in India. Added Don, "I am really touched by the response from India. I find it so touching to hear my songs in different languages I don't know but I realize it from the tune that it is my song. God Will Find A Way is immensely popular here and I am really overwhelmed." A patient Usha who even played conductor to Don's music and clapped through out even while lying down on her bed was very excited at his songs. "You have the sweetest voice I have ever heard," she said. "Here, even our relatives go faster than they come, but you stayed back and sang for us. I love your songs. You are my son, you are my son…" Sonakshi who had got doughnuts for the patients was emotional as she sang with Don for the patients. "I lost my aunt 15 days ago to cancer. I feel happy that at least I can bring smile on the face of these patients at the hospice. It is so beautiful and I feel so good here. That is what these people need." Don's India tour comprises of music concerts as well as workshops. He will hold a seminar at Shanmukhananda Hall in Mumbai on November 12, and a concert at the MMRDA Grounds in Bandra on November 13.
