Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver have announced their separation after 25 ears of marriage in a joint statement.
"After a great deal of thought, reflection, discussion and prayer, we came to this decision together. At this time, we are living apart while we work on the future of our relationship," the former couple say in the statement.
"We are continuing to parent our four children together. They are the light and center of both of our lives."
"We consider this a private matter and neither we nor any of our friends or family will have further comment."
Arnold, 63, and Maria, 55, married in 1985.
The couple have four children Katherine (b. 1989), Christina (b. 1991), Patrick (b. 1993) and Christopher (b. 1997).
The couple have had a troubled relationship.
Arnold is in the midst of crafting a showbiz comeback with three films in the pipeline, including another installment of the "Terminator" series.
