Taylor Swift performed her single 'The Story of Us' for the first time on TV on the Ellen DeGeneres show on Wednesday, May 11.
The song, released on April 19, 2011, is the fourth single from Swift's third studio album, Speak Now (2010).
Swift was inspired to write the song after she and a former boyfriend attempted to ignore each other during the 2010 CMT Music Awards.
Speak Now sold 1,047,000 copies in its first week and debuted at #1 on the US Billboard 200 chart.
All songs from the album charted on the Billboard Hot 100 with "The Story of Us" peaking at #41.
The album has sold 3,048,000 copies in the United States and has been certified triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Swift performed the song during her second headlining concert tour, the 2011 Speak Now World Tour.
