Wonder Woman Pilot Rejected By NBC

Wonder Woman

Maybe it was the costume….NBC is saying “Thanks, but no thanks” to David E. Kelley’s Wonder Woman reboot. The network has passed up a chance to add a modern-day pilot featuring CEO/superheroine Dana Price to its fall lineup, Entertainment Weekly said Friday.

“Warner Bros. TV may try to shop the pilot elsewhere. But who would take a gamble on a pilot that NBC rejected?” the trade paper writes.

After a scantily-clad Adrianne Palick debuted an eyebrowing-raising ensemble during filming for the show’s pilot that set off a firestorm among fans of the original ’70s series, which featured actress Lynda Carter in the title role. The fact that the series plot — or lack thereof — received a lukewarm reception from focus crowds also didn’t help matter much.

The shelved pilot not only leaves Palick out of work, but also means trips to the unemployment line for Liz Hurley, who had be cast as a villain and Cary Elwes, who previously starred in The X-Files.
