The St. Louis Cardinals pitcher is engaged to one of the most popular females on Dancing with the Stars. According to People Magazine, the two met in 2009 through Chuck Lidell, who apparently has match-making skills. Penny is something of an undercover ladies man; perhaps the $46 million he’s made in the last decade helps. Smirnoff looks really swell in a bikini.
Smirnoff and Penny, who played last season for the St. Louis Cardinals, starting dating in October 2009 – not long after she and fellow dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy called off their engagement.
The couple met through their mutual pal, former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant and UFC fighter Chuck Liddell.
She told People magazine, “We kept it quiet because my family is in New York and Brad’s family is in Oklahoma so we kind of wanted them to come out and celebrate and be a family first before we let the cat out of the bag.”
