When confronted by Katherine, Michael Jackson denied that he was addicted to drugs and chided his mother for not believing him.
Katherine details the incident in an interview with Oprah Winfrey set to air on Monday, November 8.
"Had you ever spoken to him about his addiction?" Oprah asks Katherine in the interview.
"I spoke to him about them once when I had heard it and he denied it," Katherine said.
"And he denied it to you?" Oprah.
"Mmhmm," Katherine nodded.
"I was telling him I didn't want to hear one day that he had overdosed, because it would break my heart and it would kill me too," Katherine recalled.
"He said he wasn't on it. He said, 'Mother you don't believe.' He kept saying that my own mother [doesn't] believe me."
The interview also features Michael Jackson's children - Prince, Paris and Blanket - and his father Joe Jackson.
