Oprahs Aussie travel arrangements under review

Oprah Winfrey is reportedly considering her travel options to Australia in light of the Qantas A380’s emergency landing in Singapore. The star will head to Oz next month with hundreds of her US audience for a series of shows. They were meant to be flying Down Under in one of the troubled giant A380 aircraft. But her US production team, Harpo Productions, has now reportedly held urgent talks with Qantas over the travel arrangements. Qantas’ fleet of A380 aircraft has now been grounded while an investigation takes place into why the Sydney-bound plane suffered near-catastrophic engine failure. A spokesman for the star told Sydney’s Daily Telegraph newspaper: “We are grateful that everyone on board Qantas QF32 is safe and there were no injuries to passengers or crew. “The safety of our trip attendees is our first priority. “We have been in touch with Qantas and are discussing all our travel options for our December trip. “We will continue to monitor the situation closely.” Harpo has not said if it will consider using a different airline for the trip, which was arranged with Tourism Australia and Qantas. Oprah’s visit is being regarded as a major tourism boost for Australia.
