Actress Jennifer Grey has revealed that a neck injury forced her to turn down Dancing With The Stars nine times. But the 50-year-old star finally considered competing in the physically challenging reality TV show after having a metal plate and four screws fitted. Grey, who is a favourite to win season 11 of the competition with pro-dance partner Derek Hough, told Jay Leno: “I’m so not a pro-dancer, not even slightly professional. I’m not even one of those people who dances at weddings!” Appearing on Dancing With The Stars would have been impossible for the star prior to having multiple neck surgeries following a 1987 car accident. “I turned the show down for nine seasons, I had a horrible neck injury,” she said. “In the end I got my neck fixed and got a plate and four screws and a bone graft, I had four surgeries.”
