Brooke Mueller Checks Into Sober Living House

It’s back to rehab for the soon-to-be former Mrs. Charlie Sheen.

Brooke Mueller, the estranged wife of actor Charlie Sheen, has checked into a sober living facility in California, her mother told PEOPLE Magazine Sunday.

Moira Fiore says her daughter has been struggling to maintain her sobriety since last Christmas, when a brawl between Charlie and Brooke left the Two And A Half Men actor facing domestic violence charges. This isn’t the first time that Mueller has gone to rehab. The one-time real estate agent, 33, has a history of addiction to crack and alcohol and has been in treatment numerous times since 2001. Mueller even checked into The Canyon Treatment Center in Los Angeles as recently as April.

Sources suggest that Brooke was “starting to feeling tempted,” so she killed the urge by checking into a rehab. Though Brooke has been struggling to stay clean, the decision to enter a sober house was strictly a precautionary measure, Fiore insists.

“She did not relapse — she’s following a program to stay sober. “She is struggling with her sobriety and we are going away on a cruise, so we feel better that she will be there while we are gone,” says Fiore, who notes that Brooke will stay at the unnamed facility for about two weeks.

“It is a facility for very wealthy people trying to fight addictions. Brooke is really trying to get her life back.”

Fiore also added that Brooke’s rehab stint wouldn’t affect her upcoming reality show, currently in production. Mueller has been working with pal Paris Hilton on a new docu-soap.

“Paris and the other girls on the show are going to Las Vegas and Brooke did not feel she could handle it now,” Brooke’s mom explains. “She was scared. We’re all happy she will be in the facility and hope she will feel better…The show is also going on hiatus so Brooke figured this was a good time [to enter the facility].”

On Nov. 1, Charlie and Brooke filed petitions to end their two-year marriage. The former couple are the parents of twin sons, Charlie and Bob, 18 months. Nannies will care for the boys while Brooke is in treatment.
