Hilary Swank said today that playing a real person in her new movie 'Conviction' carried 'a lot of responsibility'.
In 'Conviction' Swank plays Betty-Anne Waters in the story of her life, which sees her embark on a two decade quest to free her brother from prison after he is wrongly convicted of murder.
Speaking at a press conference before the film debuted at the London Film Festival on October 15, Swank told reporters, "The idea of playing a real life person… There's a lot of responsibility that comes with that.
"I would hate to have been a part of telling a story that, when Betty-Anne and her family saw it, they looked at it and said 'What were you thinking?' I wouldn't be able to live with that. That's something that would just be a disaster.
"Having Betty-Anne [on set], she's not intimidating in any way. She's just selfless… and she wears her heart on her sleeve so she was actually very helpful. She was never there to point a finger or anything. If we had any questions, she would fill in the blanks."
