Christina Aguilera, Jordan Bratman split

Christina Aguilera and husband Jordan Bratman have separated. The couple is committed to raising their 2-year-old son together.

Aguilera confirmed the split in a statement saying, "Although Jordan and I are separated, our commitment to our son Max remains as strong as ever."

Christina and music marketing executive Jordan announced their engagement in February 2005 and married on November 19, 2005, in a Napa Valley estate.

Their son Max Liron Bratman was born on January 12, 2008 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. His name translates to "Our Greatest Song" in Hebrew.

"Yes they are separated," a source close to the couple tells People magazine. "Right now they're just trying to figure things out. There are no divorce proceedings at this point."

Aguilera's fourth studio album Bionic, released on June 8 was met with mixed reviews and poor sale.
