Curvaceous stunner Christina Hendricks rules the roost as sexy office manager worker Joan Holloway on the immensely popular AMC drama Mad Men, but in the November issue of Harper’s Bazaar Magazine, the sexy redhead reveals that it’s not just men who find her 5’8”, size 14, curves hard to resist.
“Women hit on me. My husband thinks it’s so odd that so many women hit on me,” Hendricks tells the style mag, which arrives on newsstands Oct. 26. “When the attention started to become about my figure, I was surprised, because it wasn’t something I was focused on. And then it became very positive, and people were saying very nice things.”
Of course, all of the attention hasn’t been positive, Christina was mocked by a New York Times blogger who quipped that “Big girls shouldn’t wear big dresses” after spying an ensemble the star wore to an awards show earlier this year. Although initially taken aback by all of the attention given to her buxom bod, Christina’s glad that her figure has helped other woman embrace their own curves. During Mad Men’s first season, she and husband Geoffrey Arend when Christina was approached by a fan:
“Excuse me, I just want to tell you that I watch your show, and you make me feel better about myself. I am a curvy woman and you’ve made me feel sexy and beautiful.’ I got teary eyed.”
