David Arquette: ‘We told daughter about split during picnic’

David Arquette has revealed how he Courteney Cox broke the news to their six-year-old daughter Coco that they were separating. “We went to a beach and had a picnic,” the Scream star said. “I explained to her that we’re grownups, and a lot of the time when grownups are growing up, they need to figure out their lives. Sometimes that takes each other having a little space,” he told Howard Stern on his Sirius Satellite Radio show. The 39-year-old said he assured their little girl that they were not making things official. “She said, ‘Are you guys getting a divorce?’” Arquette recalled. “I said, ‘No, We’re not getting a divorce, we’re just taking some time apart to get to know ourselves better and get to know what we want out of our mate better.’” It was revealed earlier this week that Cox and Arquette had split in June.
