Kareena Kapoor and father Randhir Kapoor will co-star for the first time in the upcoming film Short Term Shaadi, emulating their real life relationship on screen.
The film additionally headlines Imran Khan and is being produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions.
Kareena and her sister Karisma Kapoor spent most of their growing years apart from their father. They were raised up by their mother Babita, who separated from husband Randhir Kapoor over differences on their daughters' upbringing.
The family has now reunited. Randhir Kapoor had a heart problem seven years back and was recently unwell again.
Short Term Shaadi is a love story based in Vegas, inspired by the Hollywood hit What Happens in Vegas starring Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher.
On a trip to Vegas, the protagonists marry after getting drunk. They actually hate each other. Realizing their mistake, they decide to seek a divorce, but end up falling in love.
The film will be shot in Vegas in a two month schedule starting this month.
The entire Kapoor family plans to be on set to watch father and daughter enact their first scene together.
