Kim Novak Diagnosed With Breast Cancer


Kim Novak, the actress who wowed the film fraternity with her stupendous performance in the 1958 cult classic “Vertigo”, is undergoing treatment after being diagnosed with breast cancer. The 77 year old actress is currently undergoing necessary treatment to battle off the breast cancer. Her manager Sue Cameron has said that the disease was detected in a routine mammogram and she is undergoing treatment for it. The news first created some worry among her fans but her manager’s positive comments about her health has reassured many. He further stated that as per her doctors, she is in fantastic physical shape and would recover soon.

Kim Novak reportedly undergoes an annual mammogram, which proved useful in detecting the disease early on. The chances of her recovery would have been lower, if the disease had escaped attention in its early stages. In the year 1995, Kim Novak has ranked 92nd on a list of 100 sexiest stars in film history. In 2002 she was honored with a lifetime achievement award by Eastman Kodak. Kim Novak even had an “It bag” named after herself by British Fashion designer Alexander McQueen. Apart from her acting skill and talent, she is an artist with an interest in poetry, photography and painting.

Kim Novak retired from films in the year 1991, and lives with her husband on a ranch in Oregon where they raise livestock. She has numerous films to her credit. A few of which include Picnic, the man with the Golden arm among others. Fans of Kim Novak are waiting in anticipation from some more positive news from her doctors.
