Lindsay Lohan Under Treatment for Cocaine Addiction

Lindsay Lohan is being treated for cocaine addiction at the Betty Ford Clinic where she voluntarily checked in on September 28.

A source told Radar Online that Lindsay "went through a thorough assessment, and it was discovered that she has a high dependence for cocaine."

Lindsay admitted to her cocain addiction in a post on Twitter on September 18, acknowledging that she had tested positive for the drug during random screening stipulated under the terms of her probation in a 2007 DUI case.

"Substance abuse is a disease, which unfortunately doesn't go away over night. I am working hard to overcome it and am taking positive steps forward every day," Lindsay wrote referring to her court ordered rehab weeks earlier.

Lindsay has undergone rehab four times, twice in 2007.

Lindsay's friends and relatives tell TMZ that the troubled star is blaming her father, Michael Lohan, for her addiction while speaking with counselors at Betty Ford Clinic, telling them that Michael physically abused her mother Dina and went to jail while she was growing up. The stress of growing up in a dysfunctional family had taken its toll.

Dina cited physical abuse while seeking divorce from Michael, but he denies the allegation.

Lindsay additionally blames her early move to LA without parental supervision and the intense tabloid scrutiny of her private life by tabloids for her woes.
