The Canadian pop diva Celine Dion has been admitted to St Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida last Sunday. Her representative announced the news to the media. It seems that after experiencing a heartbreak of miscarriage and conceiving for the second time, the 42 year old singer is taking no risk prior to the birth of her twins. The medical authorities said yesterday that the pop sensation was admitted to hospital to prevent her premature delivery.
Celine Dion’s representative said that the Grammy award-winning singer is due to deliver the twins in early next month. The hospital spokesman Ryan Lieber said that the mother-to-be was hospitalized for observation and her doctors recommended her to be admitted. The spokesperson of the hospital also said that Celine Dion was admitted to prevent her premature delivery as it is a common “clinical practice” for someone who is expecting twins. Ryan Lieber also added that Celine Dion was hospitalized to ensure that she gets proper treatment and be in close contact with the doctors and medical resources. The spokesperson said that this is the “standard” of care for any patient with twin pregnancy in the “clinical setting”.
The media outlets previously reported that Celine Dion and her husband Rene Angelil asked for a cesarean section delivery in October. However, the doctors denied the news saying that the renowned singer has not asked for any special facility. The doctors also said that the singer is not scheduled for any “predetermined” date for her delivery. Celine Dion’s pregnancy is the result of her sixth in-vitro fertilization attempt and the couple is eagerly waiting to welcome their twins. The couple has a 9 year old son Rene-Charles Dion Angelil.
