The joy of an Emmy-nomination has turned to heartbreak and anguish for Modern Family star Sofia Vergara: The actress’ boyfriend Nick Loeb, 35, has been admitted to the intensive care unit of UCLA Medical Center after a devastating car crash in Bel Air on Monday, TMZ.com reports.
Loeb had to be freed by a rescue team after crashing over a cliff near Beverly Glen Blvd. at approximately 4:30 PM yesterday afternoon. He suffered a deep gash to the chest and a broken leg. He was alone in the vehicle at the time of the accident, the cause of which is currently unknown.
Sofia is said to be by his side as doctors continue to monitor his condition. The Latina stunner assured fans that Loeb is recovering nicely and thanked them for their well-wishes: “Thnks everybody, Nick is doing very good. Pelvix fracture, lots of pain but he is going to be ok. Gracias!!!”
Loeb and Vergara began seeing the actress earlier this year. A former lawmaker in Florida, Nick is the son of John Loeb Jr., who served as President Ronald Reagan’s Ambassador to Denmark. He is reportedly pursuing a television production business in Los Angeles.
The couple spent their vacation in Italy last month to celebrate the Colombian actress’ 38th birthday.
