Lady Gaga Meat Dress Becomes Beef Jerky

The future looks beefy for Lady Gaga’s infamous contribution to carnivore couture.

After its big night out under MTV’s searing hot lights, the controversial meat dress that the pop star donned at this month’s Video Music Awards “will go through a process where it becomes a sort of ‘jerky,’” designer Fernando Fernandez explains.

The singer, known for her dance hits and bizarre dressing sense, wore a garment made from raw animal products to encourage people to stand up for their rights.

“As you know, I am the most judgement-free human being on the earth. If we don’t stand up for what we believe in and don’t stand up for our rights, pretty soon we’re going to have as much rights as the meat on our bones.”

Fernandez told MTV Style that he used 50 pounds of meat and designed the dress over three days, refrigerating it in between sessions.

“The meat dries out, rather than rotting,” he said. “But it shouldn’t be worn again. And he’s not planning on designing another one. “There’s not going to be meat dresses in the future.”
