Salman Khan has vowed to help Mumbai based Professor Sandeep Desai build schools for the poor with an astounding commitment that's a measure of the actor's generosity.
The large hearted and sometimes impulsive actor's commitment should put to shame the mightiest and the richest in our country.
After initially committing to match donations from his fans towards Desai's quest to build rural schools, Salman boldly committed to make one school every year for as long as he lives.
"I shall make sure that I vil make 1 school fr him every year till the time I am here . So plz don't stress guy's . Lv u n thank u guy's" Salman tweeted AM hours on September 28.
Salman got involved in Desai's unique mission after he read a TOI news story on the professor recently.
Desai, is a former engineer who used to teach at the S P Jain Institute of Management and Research. He quit his job in 1997 to start an English medium school for children from Goregaon slums.
Desai is currently in the process of building a second similar school for poor rural children in Ratnagiri, but he has run out of funds.
He now spends six hours every day seeking donations from commuters travelling on the Chruchgate - Goregaon local train.
Having read about the professor, Salman urged his fans to donate whatever they could afford and posted the bank account number of Desai's charity on Twitter.
"let me kno hw much u hv donate. I vil put in sm too but u do it only if u hv it, no stress at all haan.thanx" he tweeted to his fans.
Salman clarified that he is not seeking donations for charity Being Human.
"This is not 4 the Being Human charity this is about being human. This is Prof sandeep desai's charity 4 the rural school he wants to build"
