We hope Chelsea Handler has a sense of humor when she reads the reviews for her less than impressive turn as host of MTV’s 27th annual MTV Video Music Awards. Despite a critical beating for Handler, 11.4 million people tuned in for last weekend’s live performance and awards ceremony, where Lady Gaga took home eight prizes and set tongues wagging by wearing a dress made of raw meat, the network said Monday.
It was the largest audience for the telecast since the 2002 and the third most watched VMAs ceremony since the show started in 1984.
