Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha will reprise their roles in Dabangg 2. The sequel was discussed and approved during the Khan-dan's Eid, Ganesh Chaturthi and Dabangg success celebrations over the weekend.
Elated by the overwhelming response received by the film, both from the masses and the classes, film producer Arbaaz Khan told Mid-Day, "A sequel is on the cards. And why just a sequel? The film and the main characters have the potential to be carried forward through various channels."
The sequel will likely be set in Mumbai, not small town Uttar Pradesh. Abhinav Kashyap is being retained as helmer. Sonu Sood, who got rave reviews for playing a corrupt politician in the film, will come back in a double role. He will have a twin brother in the new city. "Salman was the most enthusiastic at his Eid party. When he suggested we do the sequel, we started discussing it very seriously," said Sood.
