Dabangg stars Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha will pair up again for the upcoming remake of south film Kick.
The film to be directed by Shirish Kunder has reportedly been named Sanki.
It was earlier reported that the film will be directed by A R Murugadoss.
According to Bollywood Hungama, Sanki producer Sajid Nadiadwala drove up to Sonakshi's residence to sign her up for the film on September 9, a day before the release of Dabangg on September 10.
Nadiadwala says his unprecedented decision to sign Sonakshi for the film at her home - rather than his office, as is the norm - was in deference to Sonakshi's father Shatrughan Sinha's past association with his banner; Sinha has in the past worked with Naidadwala's father and grandfather.
Salman had earlier plugged Sonakshi for the lead role to Nadiadwala, who says, "I "became a hundred percent sure of her after I saw her in Dabangg."
Production of Sanki will start later this year after Salman completes Partner 2.
Salman is currently working on Ready, a musical romance and comedy in which he is paired with Asin.
After completing Sanki, Salman is likely to work with Sonakshi once again in the recently announced sequel to Dabangg.
