As in the past, Salman Khan celebrated Ganesh Chatruthi with fervor, ending the festival by immersing the Ganapati idol that had graced his home for two days into the sea at Bandra. Salman looked stylish in an embroidered dress shirt and faded blue jeans. He was surrounded by Khan family members, friends and Dabangg co-star Sonakshi Sinha while taking the Ganesh idol to the sea. He personally supervised the loading of the idol on a carriage bedecked with flowers. Shatrughan Sinha, praising Salman and his family's secular lifestyle told PTI, "On Saturday, when I went to their house, they were celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi on one floor and Eid on another." Sonakshi Sinha, accompanied by mother Poonam Sinha, looked angelic in white salwar kameez and duppatta and red bindi and red lipstick.
